Girls With Reactive Attachment Disorder

Here’s How We Treat Reactive Attachment Disorder at Clearview Girls Academy

We can treat your daughter if she suffers from Reactive Attachment Disorder (or RAD), a rare but serious condition in which she has been unable to form a healthy emotional attachment with her mother (or primary caregiver). Consistent care of a baby’s physical and emotional needs allows her to learn to bond, and without that (i.e.: from transient foster care), she may have a hard time establishing any close relationships.

There are two types of RAD (sometimes also known as Radical Attachment Disorder). One may find her detached, emotionally unresponsive, inhibited, or withdrawn. With the other kind, she might be inappropriately familiar or affectionate with complete strangers.

Clearview Girls Academy – The Ideal Setting to Help Your Daughter with Reactive Attachment Disorder

A stable and nurturing environment (such as what you’ll find at Clearview Girls Academy) is essential in order for your daughter to create healthy attachments. Family therapy may be critically important in her treatment of Reactive Attachment Disorder, encouraging communication between you and your daughter. By giving you (parenting) skills to help heal her disorder, she can avoid developing deeper social and behavioral issues later in life, and instead go on to enjoy healthy relationships with you and with others.

Helping Reactive Attachment Disorder…Here is How we Do it at Clearview Girls Academy

We will create an individualized treatment plan specifically for her unique medical, emotional, and psychological needs. Along with daily chores and schooling (or career training), the Clearview program is very personable and relational, but highly structured, emphasizing a nutritionally balanced diet, physical activities, and outdoor events, and forged to educate your daughter in a healthy lifestyle.

Our therapeutic boarding school is housed in a secure mountainside lodge in near Sandpoint, Idaho, where our techniques (including individual, group and family therapy) are chosen for girls who need to make better choices as well as develop strong interpersonal and academic skills. Our program is created to help your daughter find the strength to overcome Reactive Attachment Disorder, enabling her to live the rest of her life as a successful and healthy woman.
